The waiting is over, the centre has been cleared ( see the big clearout slideshow) and the contractors W.H.Kirkwood have started work.

We will keep you informed with regular updates on how the work is progressing.

The big clearout slideshow frieze

The contractors are now well in to the second week and this fascinating frieze has been uncovered in the drying room which used to be part of the old school building. Regular photos of the renovation progressing will be posted here to the website.

March 2010

Work is now well ahead. The inside has been stripped back and the floors removed. The old windows are bing replaced and the old rendering reomoved from the walls. New larger double glazed windows are to be installed and the rendering is being replaced with new insulation with an Ash wood facade. This will all help in our attemps to make the new centre as eco friendly as possible and with a much reduced carbon footprint. Work has also started on the drilling for the ground source heatpump. If you take a walk past you will see how much has happened in just a few short months and in appalling weather at times.
